The Matterhorn is considered to be the most beautiful and best-known mountain in the world. Walt Disney thought so, and made it the centerpiece of Disneyland.

2015 marks the 150th anniversary of the first ascent of the Matterhorn. Based on history, EXPOSURE tells the dramatic story of that climb and of Edward Whymper, the man whose drive, determination and passion made it happen, albeit with tragic consequences.

production2EXPOSURE is set in the Swiss Alps and will be produced in the real locations – on the Matterhorn itself, and in period locations in Zermatt and throughout the Valais region. As the story involves a British-Italian rivalry in Switzerland, the cast will include British, Italian and Swiss actors. The story is set in the 1860’s, and the production design will portray a beautiful 19th century Switzerland and England, including its architecture, transportation and traditional clothing.

production3Although the film will transport the viewer into the 19th century, the production will use the latest of 21st century digital technology to create its evocative imagery and sound: stereoscopic 3D high dynamic range photography with 4K resolution and surround sound. Drones will complement the photography of the climb. The raw beauty of the mountain inspires the look of the film.
